About Grassroots & Vine

Grassroots & Vine is a neighborhood restaurant and bar in Fort Thomas built around one simple belief: good food and good wine bring people together. Since opening in 2018, it has been a place where seasonal cooking, thoughtful sourcing, and genuine hospitality matter. That foundation remains at the heart of everything we do.

Today, Grassroots & Vine is led by Challis and Lauren Hodge of Taste Food & Wine Group. As the current owners, we are proud to carry this space forward with deep respect for its roots and a clear vision for what comes next. Our focus is on fresh, farm-to-table food, small producers, and drinks chosen with intention. The menu is seasonal and ingredient-driven, paired with a strong wine program, craft cocktails, and well-curated beers.

Our space has evolved to match how people gather today. A wraparound bar anchors the room, designed for conversation, connection, and lingering. Live music, wine tastings, wine dinners, and special events are a regular part of the rhythm here. We also host private events and offer catering, bringing the Grassroots & Vine experience beyond our walls.

Challis serves as Executive Chef, shaping the menu with a focus on balance, flavor, and simplicity, letting quality ingredients speak for themselves. Lauren leads the guest experience and wine program, guiding selections, telling the stories behind the bottles, and making every visit feel personal and welcoming.

We are grateful to Barb and Chuck Thomas, whose vision, care, and commitment to community created Grassroots & Vine and made it what it is today. Their legacy of warmth, integrity, and neighborhood spirit continues to guide us.
